Pam Coombs
Vice-Chair
Pam Coombs is the Vice-Chair at the Labrador West Status of Women; she has been an active member since 2024. With a wealth of experience in the social work field, Pam brings expertise in working with families and children to the board, helping to guide and shape the direction of the organization.
In her professional career, Pam has been a registered social worker for 20 years; working with complex families, adult probation clientele, and addiction related work and has developed a strong background in family dynamics, addictions, and the law. She is passionate about educating people on their rights and finding their strengths to work on themselves and is dedicated to contributing to the Status of Women's vision and goals.
Outside of their professional work, Pam enjoys creating pottery, spending time with family and creating a community where gender equality matters.
As Vice-Chair, her major roles and responsibilities include stepping in to perform the duties and exercise the powers of the Chair in their absence. In the event the Chair position is vacant, she will assume leadership until a new appointment or election is completed. Additionally, she carries out tasks as directed by the Board of Directors, policies, or committee decisions. She also serves as one of the signing officers on behalf of the organization. Her role is vital for ensuring continuity in leadership and supporting the board’s overall governance.
Pam is also acting as the Employee and Volunteer Liaison until that role is filled. In this role, she is the conduit of information from employees and volunteers to the Board.
