Madison Patey

Record Keeper

Madison Patey is the Record Keeper at Labrador West Status of Women Council, where they have been an active member since 2023. With a wealth of experience in women's issues, mental health, and community outreach, Madison brings expertise in social justice advocacy, counselling, trauma-informed practice and crisis intervention to the board, helping to guide and shape the direction of the organization.


In their professional career, Madison Patey has worked as a mental health and addictions counsellor, a social worker with the mobile crisis response team and an investigator with the Office of the Citizens’ Representative and has developed a strong background in human rights advocacy and navigating social service systems.

She is passionate about social justice and equality, empowering and supporting others and working towards improving the wellbeing of all and is dedicated to contributing to LWSW’s vision and goals.


Outside of their professional work, Madison enjoys painting, skiing, hiking, and spending time with her loved ones. Madison is excited to continue to support with advancing the mission of LWSWC and contribute to its vision of empowering and advocating for the rights of women and gender-diverse people.

As Record Keeper, their primary responsibility is to prepare detailed records of all meeting proceedings and distribute them to the Board within four days. They ensure that original signed minutes are properly filed at the centre. If they are unable to attend a meeting, the Chair assigns a designated substitute. Additionally, they perform any other duties as directed by the Board of Directors. Their role is essential for maintaining accurate and accessible records of all organizational proceedings.
